SMART ASS

The simplicity of the drawings has its origins in the graffiti seen in public toilets or disqualified urban spaces. These expressions of popular drawing, whether or not accompanied by written words, are a raw, uninhibited and often crude manifestation of an urgency to express a feeling, opinion, bad character or ideological deformation. Although humor and sarcasm are present in my work across the board, it is in this series that they take center stage through the written word. The point of humor is to be able to express ideas that are unpleasant or even despicable as critical commentary, i.e. not all the ideas drawn are an expression of my personal opinions, but express my interest in the ideas circulating in contemporaneity. The drawings express the Zeitgeist, social paradigms, worldly concerns and civilizacional paradigms.
